The City of Rice has a seven-member Planning Commission that meets the last Monday of the month at 7 PM in the Rice Council Chambers. Members serve for a three-year term. The Planning Commission is a recommending commission to the City Council. The role of the Planning Commission is to prepare and periodically review the Comprehensive Plan and then putting that plan into action through zoning/subdivision regulations, zoning map, and a capital improvement program.
